Once you have created your own project, you can upload your files. In Buildcloud files are organised into Photos, Drawings, Site Notes and Documents.

Photos

Photos can be uploaded to the photos container at the top of your project on the desktop app, or to the photo tab on the mobile app, or to the news feed.

On the desktop app click + Upload Images on your project page and you can browse your computer for images to upload.

On the mobile app just head to the photos tab on your project, then tap the + button. You will then have the option to upload a photo from your mobile phone, or take a new photo with your camera.

All photos are unlimited, so anyone on your team can upload as many photos of your project as are needed. Photos are a great way to keep track of progress and share updates.

Drawings, Site Notes and Documents

Drawings, site notes and documents can also be uploaded to the desktop app or the mobile app. Drawings have a versioning feature, which ensures no one builds from outdated plans.

Each file type has a container on the web app where you can manage your existing files and upload new files, the drawings container also has the ability to add a new version of any drawing.

Files can also be uploaded from your mobile. How you do this depends on if you are on iPhone or Android as follows:

iPhone

On your iPhone you can upload PDF files from your email direct to the Buildcloud app. To do this open the PDF file from your email then tap the share icon.

Next locate and tap Buildcloud in the sharing menu (you might need to scroll to the right to find it in the menu). Your file will be sent to Buildcloud, and the app will check the filename to see if it can find a match. If it can find a similar drawing filename it will suggest which project the file should go and which drawing it is replacing. Otherwise you can select the project and file type yourself. The file can then be uploaded directly to the app.

Android

On your Android device you have the option to share a file from your email to Buildcloud, or browse your local file storage.

To upload a file from your email, open your PDF from your email app and then tap the more icon in the top right (three dots), then tap 'share'. Next locate and tap Buildcloud in the popover share menu. You file will be sent to Buildcloud, and the app will check the filename to see if it can find a match. If it can find a similar drawing filename it will suggest which project the file should go and which drawing it is replacing. Otherwise you can select the project and file type yourself. The file can then be uploaded directly to the app.

To browse your local file storage on your android device simply go to the drawings or documents tab in the project you would like to upload to and tap the + or 'add new drawing/document/sitenote'.
